Guest speaker, Glennis Whyte is a National Trust volunteer and an experienced guide at Treasurers House and Goddard’s house in York. The photo shows an interior shot of Goddard House in York an arts and crafts house built in 1927 for Noel and Kathleen Terry of the famed chocolate manufacturing family. Terry’s was founded in 1767 but in 1993 it was taken over by Kraft foods. Noel became Chairman of Terry’s in 1960 and served in that capacity for 10 years. The main claim to fame is the chocolate orange which has been popular for many years. The house was designated a world heritage site in 1983. The house has many excellent rooms with period furniture and also has beautiful gardens.
