Visit by the Lord Lieutenant to Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club

Mr Barry Dodd CBE , Lord Lieutenant of the North Riding , was the guest speaker at the Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club. He gave an overview of the responsibilities of the Lord Lieutenant. The Lord Lieutenant is the representative of her majesty , Queen Elizabeth in the area.

Mr Dodd gave an excellent insight into the roles and responsibilities of the role and highlighted the many visits by members of the Royal family and senior national and international leaders of armed forces, business and politics. He is determined to raise the profile of the area through Queens awards such as the 5 awards for Voluntary Service and one for enterprise awarded in the area last year. Mr Dodd is an entrepreneur who has established international businesses and holds several chairmanships in his busy career which is a great advantage in his role as Lord Lieutenant..
