Action packed month at Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club

Late September and up to mid October has been a busy 4 weeks. There has been the Council and Business meetings and a Rotary at Home attended by 33 members , spouses and friends at Geoff and Jean Taylors house with excellent food , drink and fellowship. The Rotary District Governor visited the club on 2 October to hear the clubs plans and to present updates on key Rotary initiatives such as “end polio”, there has been excellent progress on this initiative , as of 8 October 2018 , in Pakistan  there have been only 4 polio cases  this year, Afghanistan 15 cases so far this year and Nigeria no new cases with the last reported in August 2016 .
32 Members and spouses attended a dinner at Whinstone View with either two or three course meals available with a varied menu. There was plenty of food and refreshments and talk around the tables.
On 20 October the club is holding the annual Big Quiz for International charities  then on 23 October the Special General meeting will be held to elect officials for the 2018/19 Rotary year. More about these later.
