5000 crocus bulbs have been planted by members and spouse at the junction of Dixons Bank and Guisborough Road.

This purple splash of colour every year will help to remind people of the fight against Polio by  Rotary International and the Bill Gates Foundation, by vaccination of vulnerable people worldwide . Each year Rotary will plan a polio awareness campaign using the crocuses as a focal point. The effort over the years has had a fantastic outcome regarding the aim to eliminate Polio.
